Constructed by Kazbar Systems in 2012, the studio has thrived ever since, with James at the helm, skilfully mixing tracks for some of the most prominent artists from the UK and Asia. His impressive clientele includes the likes of Dua Lipa, Tinie Tempah, Faithless, MIKA, Disciples, James Smith, BTS, Sean Paul, and Paloma Faith.

James Reynolds employs a hybrid system that combines both plugin and hardware processors, including notable equipment such as the Thermionic Culture Phoenix stereo compressor, Avalon 747 stereo compressor and EQ, and the Bricasti M7 stereo reverb.
Pro Audio Equipment and System Upgrade for James Reynolds
In early 2023, Kazbar Systems was enlisted to oversee a complete overhaul of the studio’s core system. James sought a solution that would enhance his workflow, elevate sonic quality, and optimise his studio space even further.
To achieve this, we embarked on the process by assisting James in fine-tuning his equipment requirements, taking into consideration his preferred outboard gear, primarily the Thermionic Culture Phoenix, Avalon 747, and Bricasti M7 (alongside the M10 Remote). These devices were directly integrated with the new Merging Technologies Hapi audio converters, featuring the Anubis speaker control system. The MERGING+HAPI, renowned for its networked audio conversion capabilities and its contribution to the adoption of RAVENNA/AES67 audio over IP connectivity, proved to be an excellent addition to James’ setup.
The Hapi MkII, utilizing the advanced ZMAN DSP processor technology introduced in Anubis, offered significant performance upgrades. The recent introduction of the ADA8S and ADA8P cards further enhanced the mic-pre inputs’ headroom and effectively doubled the analogue I/O count to an impressive 16 in/16 out in DSD/DXD—all housed within a compact 1U rack mountable enclosure.
The outboard processors are now directly connected to the Hapi audio converters, facilitating virtual inserts and swift mix recalls.
Custom Recording Studio Furniture
Once the core equipment was finalised, Kazbar Systems provided a tailored studio furniture solution that maximised workflow efficiency. The design prioritised accessibility and tactile interaction, ensuring that all essential elements were within arm’s reach without compromising the central mixing position.
In order to bring these requirements to life, Kazbar Systems collaborated closely with Zaor on the design and construction of the custom studio desk, ensuring precise implementation of the specifications.
