Although a compact studio, this build brought with it its own degree of challenges. The studio location is situated on the third floor of the building, due to the inherent weight of a full studio installation, the current floor structure was not capable of handling this additional structure.

The solution was to lift the old floor and reinforce the base with additional steels to bolster the floor before further materials were installed.

Kazbar Systems supplied and handled all aspects of the installation, from working with Howard Turner on detail of the plans, studio build through to studio equipment specification and installation.

Emma Holland worked with Dave Eccleston on studio equipment specification and details. The studio Control Room is based around an Apple iMac Mini connected via Thunderbolt to a Focusrite Claret 8 Pre Audio Interface. The Claret is wired direct to the Live Room custom wall box where the microphones for the PAYG broadcasts are recorded.

The chosen speaker monitoring was Focal Solo 6BE’s placed on IsoAcoustic L8R200 Speaker Stands, talkback, speaker and headphone control is handled by a Presonus Monitor Station V2.
