Dubstep geniuses Modestep have just mixed their first track in the new studio supplied and installed by Kazbar Systems.
Based around the SSL Matrix with Focal monitoring, also an SSL Bus Compressor across the mix. The SSL Matrix has no preamps so for recording drums and vocals, included was an Audient ASP008 8 Channel Mic Preamp and a Neve 1073 DPA.
Modetsep use Logic Studio and Ableton as their chosen DAW, to interface the MacPro to the SSL Matrix, an SSL XLogic Alphalink IO was chosen due to it’s excellent sound quality and the amount of ins & outs it offers.
Josh from Modestep required the studio to be installed quickly due to the bands ongoing commitments. Once we got the go ahead, Modestep were up and running double time with minimum disruption to their schedule.
