Kazbar was originally introduced to Soho Studios back in 2003 when producer Matt Schwartz was recommended to Kazbar to help upgrade his Pro Tools System along with other outboard and monitoring.
Soho Studio is a music production facility within the centre of London’s West End within the Heals Building consisting of multiple production studios.
On visiting Soho Studios we met other residents within the complex including engineer Joe Fields whose recording/production credits include the likes of Ben Harper, Placebo, Sway, Amy MacDonald, Dido and many more.
Since meeting Joe we have assisted with the continued growth of his studio including his Mac Pro upgrade with his Avid 003, Audient ASP008 8 Channel Mic Pre Unit, Neve 8816 Summing Mixer and Avalon 737 Mic Pre Channel Strip. Joe discusses his studio:
“The Neve 8816 Summing Mixer is the central hub of my studio I couldn’t live without it, and with the optional digital i/o card I find my mixes have a lot more clarity and definition between the sounds. It is also the clock source for my Audient ASP008 which gives me 8 high quality Mic Pre’s, I use the Audient for pretty much all the recording I do as the converters on it give a really clear sound with absolutely no hiss or noise. When mixing I use the Klark Tekniks Square One compressor bank which gives me 8 compressors and provides the analogue warmth to the music and I reserve the Avalon VT737sp exclusively for lead vocals.”
Soho Studios has just fully reopened after a major refit, here’s to the next 10 years!!
