Introducing the 624 and 8A
MOTU are now shipping two new additions to their range of AVB-equipped audio interfaces – the 624 and 8A. These two units are in the half-rack format used by the best-selling UltraLite units yet feature the same high-quality audio, ultra-low latency and connectivity features as the larger units on which they are based: the 624 is essentially half a 1248, and – you’ve guessed it – an 8A is effectively half a 16A.
Both units feature several firsts for MOTU:
- First half-rack MOTU audio interfaces with ThunderBolt™ technology
- First MOTU audio interfaces with USB 3.0
- First MOTU audio interfaces with a colour display
The high bandwidth of the ThunderBolt™ and ultra super-speed USB 3.0 connections mean that up to 128 channels of audio can be transferred each way from the host computer, with up to 64 channels being received or sent over AVB. They both ship with a USB3 cable.
