Kazbar Systems has just supplied Soho based BAFTA winning & multi Emmy award nominated Hackenbacker Post Production Studios with a set of Focal Solo 6BE active studio monitor speakers. Hackenbacker’s film & TV credits include Downton Abbey, Spooks, Life On Mars, Whitechapel, Hot Fuzz and The Descent.
The British Academy mask is based on a design by Mitzi Cunliffe.
Hackenbacker founder Nigel Heath gives his thoughts on how the Focal Solo 6BE’s were his final choice after auditioning alternative speakers:
“Myself and the team here at Hackenbacker spent quite some time test driving monitor speakers for the upgrading of our sound editing rooms. After listening to a variety of material comprising of dialogue, effects and music we unanimously voted in favour of the Focal Solo’s. We were impressed by the clarity, the balance and the overall ‘poise’ of the sound in general – we all love them!”
Currently the monitors are being kept busy on the sound design and effects editing on the hugely successful ITV Studios/Pukeko Pictures ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ as well as a major upcoming UK drama series.
To raise the height and angle of the Focal Solo 6BE’s to the correct ear listening positioning along with provide sound isolation, the Focal Solo 6BE’s were supplied along with IsoAcoustic L8R155 Isolating Speaker Stands.
