Kazbar Systems has supplied Mercury Award winning producer Charlie Andrew (producer of Alt-J’s debut album An Awesome Wave) with a second mobile Avid HD Native rig mirroring his permanent studio system.
Due to the increased need of recording and editing artists recordings in alternative locations, then being able to copy and open sessions seamlessly on his studio system, Charlie chose the Avid HD Native system with an Avid Omni Interface. This allows for high quality recording through the Omni’s onboard mic pres and direct monitoring to either headphones or speakers.
Joining the Avid HD Native system is a Universal Audio UAD2 Quad DSP card for access to the excellent Universal Audio Plugins, Charlie is already an existing UAD2 user so can now access his plugins on both his recording systems.
Both cards have been installed into a Sonnet Echo Express III Thunderbolt Rackmount Expansion Chassis connecting to an Apple MacBook Pro laptop
For recording audio projects and access to sample libraries, we recommended and supplied two Glyph 4TB Hard Drives which are excellent for mobile solutions as they can be rack mounted.
Finally all components were racked into an SKB 4U mobile flight case with a top mounted laptop compartment.
