Kazbar Systems has recently completed the acoustic upgrade and installation of Ben Cullum’s Sunhatch II studio.
Originally based in Kensal Green, West London, Ben decided it was time to relocate to the countryside for some fresh air and to accommodate his ever growing studio.
Ben’s equipment specification includes; the Antelope Orion 32 Audio Interface, a Neve 8816 Summing Mixer, Avalon 737 Mic Preamp and Focal Twin 6BE Active Monitor Speakers.
Dave Eccleston, Technical Manager at Kazbar Systems, visited Ben’s studio prior to the installation to discuss his requirements and to provide an acoustic specification for the new studio also factoring in some of Ben’s existing acoustic panels from the first Sunhatch studios.
The primary requirement was to improve the studio acoustics whilst providing live and dead areas for instrument and vocal recordings. A number of recommendations were made to increase the isolation values of the studio.
Our team headed up by installation specialist Scott White installed three Ceiling Clouds, ten wall mounted Acoustic Panels, three Corner Traps and one tuned Bass Trap to complete the Sunhatch II installation.
